Manchester-based start-up Brarista is transforming the way women shop for lingerie with its AI-powered bra fitting technology. Backed by a £510,000 funding package led by GC Angels, alongside Innovate UK and private investors, the business is set to scale its innovative platform and expand into new markets.

With up to 80% of women wearing the wrong bra size, the need for a smarter, more efficient fitting process has never been greater. Brarista’s cutting-edge Vision AI technology provides accurate, personalised recommendations—reducing costly returns, minimising waste, and improving customer satisfaction for both consumers and retailers.

Driving Innovation in the Lingerie Industry

Founded in 2019 by Vietnamese entrepreneur Bella Trang Ngo, Brarista launched commercially in July 2021 and is already making waves. The company is running paid pilot programmes with leading UK and EU retailers, including Lemonade Dolls, Evenly, and Monsera.

Bella spent four years developing Brarista’s AI technology, collaborating with lingerie experts and gathering insights from diverse customer demographics. Now fully developed, the platform is set to redefine the bra-fitting experience—offering a seamless, personalised, and accessible alternative to traditional methods.

Scaling for the Future

With fresh investment secured, Bella and her team plan to:
✅ Expand Brarista’s retail partnerships in the UK and internationally
✅ Grow the team and invest in AI development for new products like maternity, post-surgery lingerie, and swimwear
✅ Explore opportunities beyond lingerie, bringing AI-driven fitting technology to the wider fashion and e-commerce sectors
Raise awareness about bra fitting, improving education and accessibility for consumers

Ranvir Singh, Investment Manager at GC Angels, said:
"Brarista is a game-changer for the lingerie industry. By combining AI with expert knowledge, Bella has developed a solution that tackles fit-related challenges head-on, benefiting both consumers and retailers. With our investment, we’re confident Brarista will scale rapidly and make a lasting impact in the UK and beyond."

Bella Trang Ngo, Founder & CEO of Brarista, added:
"Our mission is to democratise the bra-fitting experience, making it more accurate, accessible, and personalised for every woman. This funding from GC Angels will help us grow Brarista, tackle the £10bn annual cost of lingerie returns, and drive innovation across the fashion sector. With Ranvir and the GC Angels team’s support, we’re excited to scale and transform the industry."

Brarista is set to reshape the lingerie shopping experience—eliminating guesswork, reducing returns, and ensuring women everywhere can find the perfect fit with ease.
