TiE UK North the Manchester-based global entrepreneur network is delighted to announce the formation of a new board to meet the needs of its women members.
TiE was founded in Silicon Valley over 25 years ago bringing the network to Manchester in 1995. A small cohort of Manchester entrepreneurs was so impressed with how TiE helped start-up businesses in the Valley by offering 2 features, Mentoring and opening their networking circles to help businesses develop their sales connections, leverage equity and at the same time develop an ecosystem that was able to thrive. In the UK there are 2 chapters, London and Manchester, with Manchester spreading across Liverpool and Lancashire.
Christine Kelly, TiE UK North Board Member and Chair of the new Advisory Board said, “Our aim is to encourage women to come forward to seek Mentors and at the same time benefit from the vast amount of experience and skills we have on the board. The board is comprised of women who have a strong connection with TiE and represent a broad range of sectors including banking, nuclear, legal, academia, health, property, PR, hospitality, Digital & Tech. Our aim is to keep growing our list of specialities. The initiative builds on our Pioneering Women speaker series in Manchester, which has provided a forum for inspirational entrepreneurs to share their experiences and meet with our TiE members over the last 6 years.”
Vikas Shah, President of TiE UK North said, “This new initiative for TiE UK North is in line with what our global chapters are doing in helping women to look at the opportunities that such a concept can create for them. We have some wonderful female entrepreneur speakers from around the world who are available to help, coach and inspire. TiE is a membership organisation and a general member can join for £50 and get all of these benefits which our TiE Charter members provide. TiE UK North is a conduit for education, networking and mentoring."
